Fin de Fiesta Flamenco

The Vancouver Sun calls Fin de Fiesta Flamenco, "a rowdy and intense troupe that radiates flamenco passion," while the Calgary Herald describes them as, "a mix of cultures immersed in flamenco spirit," and the Winnipeg Free Pressfound their performance, "wild and rhythmically complex."

Fin de Fiesta Flamenco is a 6-person music and dance ensemble based in Spain and made up of artists from Canada, France and Cuba, with heritage from China, Japan, India and Poland. Our music and dance combines these international origin stories with the electric and ever-evolving flamenco traditions alive in Spain today.

The searing vocals of Alejandro Mendia (Les Noces Gitanes, France) are accompanied by the intricate guitar arpeggios of Dennis Duffin (Ventanas, Sevilla/Canada) and the haunting flute melodies of Lara Wong (Canada/Madrid). Dancer Lia Grainger (2017 Certamen New York International Flamenco Competition finalist, Canada/Madrid) brings the stage to life with fierce and sensual choreographies and improvisations, Deborah "La Caramelita" electrifies audiences with her exotic and passionate dance creations (Les Noces Gitanes, India/Canada/France) and Hanser Santos Gomez (Cuba/Canada) holds down the rhythm on cajon.

Over the past six years Fin de Fiesta Flamenco has performed for hundreds of audiences across Europe and North America, including a 40-show tour in the summer of 2018.

Fin de Fiesta Flamenco takes every audience on a thrilling journey, from flamenco's traditional roots in the music and culture of southern Spain, all the way to its contemporary forms. Ancient rhythms meet avant-garde ideas and converge in an explosion of staccato guitar and percussive footwork. To the south of Spain and back again, Fin de Fiesta will leave you breathless, with the pulsing rhythms of flamenco beating in your heart.
