Peter Cortens (Dryden showcasing artist) Saturday 11am, Tavern Sunday 3:10 pm, Tavern Peter Cortens was born in St. Boniface and grew up in Kenora and Dryden. He fell in love with and began playing music as a teenager in Dryden, where he now lives. He has played in several local bands including "Dealer" and "The Waterhouse Blues Band". He now plays guitar and harmonica in "Pass The Pineapple" (who have recently played in the exotic locales of Thunder Bay, Sioux Lookout, Waldhof, and Red Lake). He got back to writing songs two years ago, inspired partly by "The Trout", and now finds it a challenging and exciting passion.
Red Moon Road (Winnipeg showcasing artist) Saturday 9:20pm, Main Sunday 2:10pm, Tavern The musical partnership of vocalist/song-writer Erin Propp and multi-instrumentalist/song writer Daniel Jordan (aka Jonny Moonbeam) spans time, genre and purpose. An active player in Winnipeg’s music scene (Band Leader/bassist for Motown sensation the Retro Rhythm Review and uncle Rocki Rolletti, Song-writer/Guitarist for Indie-Pop band Jonny Moonbeam and the Lunatics, and touring multi-genre drummer), Daniel and Erin (fourth year jazz student and critically acclaimed songstress) have played as drummer and vocalist in the Winnipeg Jazz Festival and as founding members of 5 piece original folk-roots project, Red Moon Road. They debut at T.F.M.F. in their original and purest form; a duo.
Ryan Van Belleghem (Kenora showcasing artist) Saturday 8:20pm, Main Sunday 2:10pm, Tavern A newcomer to the performance scene is Ryan Van Belleghem, seventeen, from Kenora, Ontario. During the last few years, he has been performing at various musical venues and fundraisers in Northwestern Ontario and recently received the honour of winning the Lake of the Woods Arts Collective and DC Music Productions 2010 Young Artist Development contest. Performing his vocals with acoustic guitar and at times accompanied by harmonica, [WINDOWS-1252?]Ryan’s musical inspiration comes from such music icons as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Len Cohen and Cat Stevens. His sheer love for music has been the catalyst for writing and composing his own songs which he will be performing at the Trout Forest Music Festival this year.
