The New Meanies
In 1991, four of Winnipeg’s most creative young musicians and longtime friends decided to take their talents to the next level, envisioning a musical collaboration where creativity ran freely. Out of the basement in a house in Charleswood... Blending good old fashioned rock’n’roll with healthy doses of blues, jazz, and funk, the New Meanies found their musical muse. For more than a decade, the New Meanies have earned a reputation as one of Canada’s most high-calibre rock outfits, touring across North America and winning the acclaim of critics and peers alike. There’s few other bands in the world who both consistently push the musical envelope and simultaneously remain true to their roots.

Scott Nolan and Joanna Miller
Scott Nolan is a laid-back master of steady pacing -- one who knows when it’s time for taste and restraint and when it’s time to take his foot off the brake and let ‘er roll. Playing with long-time musical partner, drummer Joanna Miller, this two-piece has established a sound of their own. An evening that can range between explosive instrumental interchange , or take a stethoscopic glimpse into the heartbeat of a song . No matter what you witness, you’re in for a treat.

Sierra Noble
At 18 years of age, Sierra Noble is already world-class fiddler, performing and writing nationally and internationally. Through her fiddling, her voice, her music, her innate charisma and stage presence, Sierra Noble creates a sound that is distinctively her own by unifying cultures, Métis and Celtic; and musical genres, world beat and roots jazz.
As Sierra evolves, she flawlessly infuses sounds from Celtic, bluegrass, roots, country and Métis music into her own creations, while honouring her artistic integrity. Audiences around the world, including Canada, United States, Mexico, Japan, have revelled in Sierra’s performances; as well as premier music festivals and events, like the 90th Anniversary of The Battle of Vimy Ridge in Vimy, France (2007).

The Perpetrators
The Perpetrators distill rock 'n' roll, punk and country into their heady houserockin' punch: "blues for people who hate blues." Give them a stage, any stage, and they'll put on the best show they can for whoever's there. With years of international touring under their belts, each one is a seasoned pro on their instrument of choice; but never afraid to take chances, J Nowicki, Ryan Menard and Chris "MAMA" Bauer like to switch things up in a onstage game of musical chairs. Their second album, "the gas and the clutch," earned them a Western Canadian Music Award and a Juno nomination.
Their latest, 2007's "Tow Truck," is an uncompromising expression of their varied musical influences that never loses sight of their blues roots. Since then, they've recorded a soon-to-be-released live album and will return to Europe for their third tour.

Righteous Ike
Perhaps known best for his riveting take on the music of blues and country greats like Howlin’ Wolf and Hank Williams, Righteous Ike is a deeply sensitive songwriter at heart, and is certainly an influential figure in Winnipeg’s world-class roots music community. Laced with a unique mixture of world-weary angst and biting humour, his songs have in many ways become anthems for a generation of Prairie musicians. His long-time band includes Kevin Bell (guitar), Brendan Nagle (drums), and John Scoles (bass).

Steve Schellenberg
Steve Schellenberg is an astute observer of the human condition. His life long love of Americana and traditional folk music becomes a canvas and each song he creates contains the subtle strokes of a master, whether it’s a robust travelling song or a tale of lost love. Born in Minnesota, raised in Winnipeg, Steve’s musical roots are deep. From his father’s cowboy songs to his uncle Solli’s hootenannies at Lake Winnipeg, Steve’s childhood was steeped in folk tradition. With the encouragement of a junior high school teacher Steve began playing guitar and writing poetry in grades seven and eight, skills that have been finely honed though life experience. Steve’s deep commitment to humanitarianism

Twilight Hotel
Hailing from the fertile music scene of Winnipeg, MB, Brandy Zdan & Dave Quanbury met in 2002 at the Trout Forest Music Festival in Ontario. The sparks flew in a fever, and they realized the power of combining their talents. Twilight Hotel have been compared to such memorable folk duos as Ian and Sylvia and Johnny and June because they radiate that certain elusive chemistry that can only come from two people in love singing together. Couples that make music together rarely find harmony in their relationships; Zdan and Quanbury are hoping to buck the trend with their personal and musical partnership in Twilight Hotel.

Kerri Woelke
"Kerri Woelke has had quite the year after the release of her first album (self-titled) in February 2007. She has since had 3 western Canadian tours, an eastern canadian tour, as well as a WCMA nomination and 2 Covenant nominations (Folk/Roots album of the year and CD art or the year). She has recently been noticed by Signpost music's Steve Bell, and has been brought on as Signpost's new artist in development.  Her sophmore album "Where we were" is currently being recorded and will be released in 2008."

Brock Zeman and Dan Walsh
"Though only 27 years old Brock Zeman has released 6 albums (4 of which we're produced and played on by Keith Glass (Prairie Oyster), and has spend the last 4 years touring Canada and the U.S. playing 250 gigs a year. Paul Symes of the famous Blacksheep Inn (Wakefield) says: "Brock Zeman clearly ranks with the best emerging Texas/US singer-songwriters that we have encountered here at Blacksheep: Adam Carroll, Hayes Carll, Chris Knight and Slaid Cleaves. Just like them, he's got fistfuls of ferociously good songs and he's not afraid to use 'em. In many ways, he reminds me of a kid Fred Eaglesmith: great stories, fine melodies, a wicked sense of humour.  It is just a matter of time before the world gets it, so tune in now before we lose him to the U, S and Ayyy."
